Who is The Nappy Lady? Well, I suppose that could be a kind of existential question. The Nappy Lady is two entities, in a way – I, Wendy Richards, am the The Nappy Lady (I took over from Morag Gaherty the original Nappy Lady); and my business is also called The Nappy Lady. I generally run The Nappy Lady alone so if you ask for nappy advice 99.9% of the time i will personally write it and eventually pack your order. Occassionally i get a little help from My Richards mainly with packing as his packing skills are far superior to mine and he can get orders into boxes that i never think will fit (i also can not park and my general spacial awareness is rubbish!) Just occassionally i need a holiday and at this point i will be passing the advisor reins over to Sharon a long time cloth nappy user and friend.
What we do is help people choose the right cloth nappies for their situation and advise them on how best to use them. It is important to note that we don’t see it as our job to persuade you to use cloth. There is enough parenting guilt out there in the world without us adding to it. And, anyway, even if you don’t think cloth nappies are for you, we can advise you on other ways to reduce your environmental impact.
But if washables are the way you want to go, we can help you avoid making an expensive mistake. The whole reason TNL exists is because of my Morag’s own expensive mistake nearly 10 years ago. Good marketing of a product doesn’t make it the right product. And it’s an expensive decision to get wrong.
Our advice service is totally personal and also totally free. Having said that, we’re not some kind of Nappy Oftel. The only way we can offer a free service is if we also sell nappy products. I ensure our prices are competitive and frequently the cheapest online, so I’d hope you would want to buy from us.
